Regional Mental Health Center - Stark Center
Regional Health Systems is a non-profit organization serving as both a community mental health center and a federally qualified health center, committed to providing affordable, high-quality care to individuals and families in Northwest Indiana regardless of age, income, or insurance status. With a history spanning 50 years, beginning as two community mental health centers offering outpatient behavioral health services in Hammond and Merrillville, it has evolved to include substance abuse and residential treatment, eventually becoming the Regional Mental Health Center and pioneering Indiana's first community mental health center to integrate a federally qualified health center for medical and dental care. The organization's mission is to enhance the health and well-being of individuals and their families by delivering community-based mental health care, primary health care, and addiction treatment services, treating the whole person in a compassionate, judgment-free environment. Services encompass a wide range including primary care for families, pediatrics, senior care, dental services, psychiatry, counseling for individuals, couples, and families, addiction treatment through programs like Recovery Matters and Mobile Integrated Response Systems, crisis intervention via the 24/7 Crisis C.A.R.E. Unit, telehealth, mobile health clinics, veteran-specific behavioral health support, and pharmacy services, all coordinated to support long-term recovery, whole-person health, and community well-being.
