Through The Gate is a Christ-centered inpatient rehab for women in Indiana offering holistic programs to help overcome life-controlling issues like alcoholism, drug use, homelessness, trauma, re-entry after incarceration, and mental health challenges. Founded in 2014 by Pastor Steve Covington after volunteering in a women's prison, the organization provides a safe and supportive environment for women to break free from destructive patterns and embrace their God-given identities, leading healthy and fulfilling lives through a comprehensive recovery program that integrates biblical, emotional, and practical support. Almost everyone on staff is a graduate of the program, bringing firsthand experience to equip women with skills for spiritual clarity, joyful sobriety, and purpose. The 8-month faith-based approach focuses on mental, emotional, and spiritual healing, combining life skills classes on identity, mental health, relationships, goal setting, domestic skills, job training, servanthood, and acquiring assets like licenses and healthcare; peer counseling; mentorship after 90 days; and a supportive community with weekly church attendance. Services include necessities like food, clothing, and shelter; transportation; and slow reintegration, with an option for transitional housing for eligible graduates. One-third of participants come from out of state, drawn to this trusted faith-based rehab, where 78% of graduates do not return to former ways of living.
