Treatment & Programs

Levels of Care

Treatment at Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare – Youth Day Treatment offers a full spectrum of care, moving from intensive residential treatment to long-term community support. Clients can access ASAM 3.5 clinically managed high-intensity residential programs or utilize structured outpatient formats. For individuals requiring continuous real-world assistance, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) provides intensive in-home and community-based care.

Therapies

Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare – Youth Day Treatment integrates recognized clinical modalities with holistic interventions like AcuDetox, an acupuncture protocol proven to decrease cravings. Therapists utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral approaches, and EMDR to actively reshape negative thought patterns. For family healing, clinicians also deploy Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to promote healthy relational functioning.

Addictions

Substance use treatment encompasses alcohol, illicit drugs, and a significant focus on nicotine dependence. The center utilizes a targeted 5A Model for tobacco recovery, offering carbon monoxide screening and specialized non-addictive medication management. These efforts exist alongside the primary treatment tracks to assist individuals toward entirely substance-free lives.

Conditions

The clinical team routinely supports clients navigating severe and persistent mental illnesses alongside acute crises. Care is structured around addressing co-occurring mental health conditions like major depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. Specialized diagnostic support is also available for childhood disorders like ADHD, ensuring highly accurate mental health assessments.

Issues

Therapists and case managers look beyond primary diagnoses to tackle practical stressors like legal barriers, deep grief, and housing instability. Dedicated youth services specifically address peer bullying, school adjustment challenges, and sexually maladaptive behaviors. Through intensive family assistance, the staff works to prevent out-of-home placements and alleviate significant household tension.

Programs

The Stepping Forward program operates as a highly specialized, structured residential track built exclusively for pregnant women and mothers with newborns. For families navigating complex challenges, the High Fidelity Wraparound program provides a team-based planning process driven by underlying needs rather than behaviors. Older adults also have access to dedicated discussion groups tackling cognitive decline, relocation, and retirement.

On-site

Amenities

Residents in the supervised group living programs reside in comfortable homes equipped with ten individual bedrooms, dedicated dining areas, and comforting community spaces. At the main residential campus, men and women stay in separate wings designed for safety and focused recovery. Daily schedules are extremely structured, running from dawn until late evening to maintain a stable environment.

Payment

Financial accessibility is central to the mission, anchored by a Patient Financial Services department ready to navigate insurance and affordability. They accept Medicare, traditional Medicaid, TRICARE, and major commercial plans like Anthem and Cigna.
