Regional Mental Health Center - 4016 Hohman Avenue
Regional Health Systems is a non-profit organization serving the Northwest Indiana communities as a community mental health center and federally qualified health center, committed to providing affordable, high-quality care to all individuals and families regardless of age, income, or circumstance. With a 50-year history that began with two community mental health centers offering outpatient behavioral health services in Hammond and Merrillville, the organization has expanded to include substance abuse and residential treatment, becoming the first in Indiana to integrate a federally qualified health center for medical and dental care, all while maintaining a focus on treating the whole person. Its mission is to enhance the health and well-being of individuals and their families by delivering community-based mental health care, primary health care, and addiction treatment services in a safe, supportive, judgment-free environment. Regional Health Systems offers a comprehensive range of services including primary care, psychiatry, counseling for individuals, couples, and families, addiction treatment programs like Recovery Matters with residential and outpatient options, crisis intervention through the C.A.R.E. Unit and Mobile Integrated Response Systems, telehealth, mobile health clinics, veteran-specific support, and specialized programs such as Assisted Outpatient Treatment, all coordinated to address physical, behavioral, and social needs with a patient-centered, trauma-informed approach.
