Regional Mental Health Center - State Street
Regional Health Systems is a non-profit community mental health center and federally qualified health center committed to serving the needs of Northwest Indiana communities by providing affordable, high-quality care to all people regardless of age, income, or circumstance. With a 50-year history that began with two outpatient behavioral health centers in Hammond and Merrillville, the organization has expanded to offer comprehensive services addressing the whole person, including primary health care, dental care, mental health services, and addiction treatment. Its mission is to enhance the health and well-being of individuals and their families through community-based mental health care, primary health care, and addiction treatment services, delivered in a compassionate, judgment-free environment. Services encompass primary care for families, pediatrics, and seniors; behavioral health including counseling, psychiatry, and crisis intervention via the 24/7 Crisis C.A.R.E. Unit; addiction recovery programs like Recovery Matters with residential and outpatient options using medication-assisted treatment; telehealth and mobile health initiatives; specialized support for veterans, assisted outpatient treatment, and mobile integrated response systems; as well as pharmacy services, case management, and financial assistance to ensure accessibility for underserved populations, pregnant women, adolescents, and families facing substance use or mental health challenges.
