LifeSpring Health Systems is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Community Mental Health Center and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has been the premier provider of mental health and primary care services in southern Indiana since 1964, beginning as a small outpatient clinic for children in Jeffersonville and expanding to serve 11 counties—Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Orange, Perry, Scott, Spencer, and Washington—with over 25 facilities and annually supporting more than 14,000 individuals. LifeSpring’s mission is 'to improve and sustain the quality of life in our communities by providing comprehensive behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, primary care and related services,' guided by the values that 'it is our privilege to serve, with the highest quality of care, in a professional and fiscally responsible manner.' Utilizing a team approach with professional providers including physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurses, licensed therapists, counselors, and case managers, LifeSpring tailors specific programs for each individual, emphasizing evidence-based, patient-centered, and holistic integrated care that combines physical and behavioral health services to treat the whole person. Services encompass education, prevention, assessment, intervention, and treatment, including individual and group outpatient therapy, medical and psychiatric evaluations, recovery campus facilities for residential crisis stabilization and substance use disorder treatment, children and families services for ages 4-17, supervised group living and alternative family homes for adults with severe mental illnesses, specialized veterans support, problem gambling treatment, homelessness initiatives like Healthcare for the Homeless and PATH, school-based health services, crisis response via a 24/7 call center and mobile team, open access walk-ins, self-management classes, and transportation assistance. Committed to accessibility, LifeSpring operates on a sliding fee scale with no one turned away due to inability to pay, insurance status, or protected characteristics, fostering strong partnerships with medical communities, social services, schools, justice officials, churches, and organizations to deliver the least restrictive, most supportive services tailored to participants’ needs across diverse populations including the underserved, families, veterans, and those with co-occurring disorders.
