LifeSpring Health Systems is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Community Mental Health Center and Federally Qualified Health Center founded in 1964 as a small outpatient clinic for children in Jeffersonville, Indiana, with a mission 'to improve and sustain the quality of life in our communities by providing comprehensive behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, primary care and related services.' Guided by the values 'It is our privilege to serve, with the highest quality of care, in a professional and fiscally responsible manner,' LifeSpring has grown to serve 11 counties across southern Indiana—Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Orange, Perry, Scott, Spencer, and Washington—operating over 25 facilities and annually supporting more than 14,000 individuals regardless of age, race, ability to pay, or other factors, ensuring no one is turned away due to inability to pay through a sliding fee scale and services available via Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP. As the premier provider of mental health and primary care services, LifeSpring employs a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurses, licensed therapists, counselors, and support staff to deliver a comprehensive array of services, including education, prevention, information, assessment, intervention, and treatment, using a tailored team approach to address the whole person with the least restrictive, most supportive options. Primary care is patient-centered and holistic, providing evidence-based medicine in medically underserved areas, while behavioral health offers one-on-one and group therapy for recovery; specialized programs include the Recovery Campus with residential facilities like the Turning Point Center for crisis stabilization and the Hope Center, integrated outpatient treatment, school-based health services, crisis response via a 24/7 call center and mobile team, Project CARE for overdose response, veterans services, homelessness support through PATH and Healthcare for the Homeless, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), open access walk-ins, and transportation assistance. Through strong partnerships with medical communities, social services, schools, justice officials, churches, and organizations, LifeSpring fosters community resilience, particularly in addressing substance use disorders like opiate addiction, and has earned recognitions such as HRSA Community Health Quality Awards for improving healthcare access and advancing health information technology.
