LifeSpring Health Systems is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Community Mental Health Center and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has been the premier provider of mental health and primary care services in southern Indiana since 1964, when it began as a small outpatient clinic for children in Jeffersonville. Through growth, expansions, and a 2018 merger with Southern Hills Counseling Center, Inc., LifeSpring now serves 11 counties—Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Orange, Perry, Scott, Spencer, and Washington—with over 25 facilities and annually supports more than 14,000 individuals facing behavioral health challenges, substance use disorders, and primary care needs. Its mission is 'to improve and sustain the quality of life in our communities by providing comprehensive behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, primary care and related services,' guided by the values that 'It is our privilege to serve, with the highest quality of care, in a professional and fiscally responsible manner.' LifeSpring employs a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurses, licensed therapists, counselors, and case managers to deliver tailored, evidence-based programs including assessments, individual and group outpatient therapy, medication-assisted treatment, crisis stabilization through 24/7 call centers and mobile response teams, residential recovery services at facilities like Turning Point Center and Hope Center, school-based health services, homeless support via the PATH program, veteran-specific care, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and nutrition education. Primary care is patient-centered and holistic, integrating physical and behavioral health to treat the whole person, with no one turned away due to inability to pay, race, or other factors—services are accessible via sliding fee scales based on income and family size, Medicaid/Medicare acceptance, and partnerships with medical communities, schools, justice systems, and organizations. Committed to the least restrictive, most supportive environment, LifeSpring fosters strong community collaborations to promote recovery, prevention, and long-term well-being for children, families, adults, the underserved, and veterans across southern Indiana.
