Beginning as a small outpatient clinic for children in Jeffersonville, Indiana, LifeSpring has grown to serve 11 counties—Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Orange, Perry, Scott, Spencer, and Washington—through over 25 facilities, annually assisting more than 14,000 individuals.
Its mission is 'to improve and sustain the quality of life in our communities by providing comprehensive behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, primary care and related services,' guided by the values that 'it is our privilege to serve, with the highest quality of care, in a professional and fiscally responsible manner.' LifeSpring employs a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurses, licensed therapists, counselors, care managers, and support personnel to deliver a team-based, evidence-based, and holistic approach tailored to each individual's needs, including assessment, individual and group outpatient therapy, medical and psychiatric services, crisis intervention via a 24/7 call center and mobile team, residential recovery programs at facilities like the Turning Point Center and Hope Center, school-based health services, specialized support for veterans and homeless populations, and problem gambling treatment.
As a patient-centered organization, LifeSpring ensures accessibility with no one turned away due to inability to pay, offering a sliding fee scale based on income and family size, and accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP, while fostering strong partnerships with medical, social service, educational, governmental, and community entities to provide the least restrictive, most supportive services to children, families, adults, and underserved communities facing mental illness, addiction, and primary health needs.

Treatment & Programs
Levels of Care
LifeSpring Health Systems - East provides a flexible continuum of outpatient services tailored entirely to individual needs. Through their innovative "Open Access" model, prospective clients can walk in and receive same-day access to initial assessments and clinical care. This community-first approach ensures that professional support is available the exact moment someone is ready to begin their recovery journey.
Therapies
Using a collaborative team approach, LifeSpring customizes individual and group therapies around targeted, evidence-based practices. Therapists and care managers work one-on-one with clients to set actionable life goals, while therapeutic groups provide a structured space to learn new coping skills and draw strength from peers. These core interventions are deeply paired with ongoing medical services and medication management to treat the whole person.
Addictions
The clinical team at LifeSpring addresses a wide spectrum of substance use disorders, focusing on both chemical dependencies and behavioral addictions. In addition to treating standard drug and alcohol addiction, they serve as a certified treatment provider for problem gambling through the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addictions. This dual expertise allows providers to tackle complex, overlapping addictive behaviors effectively.
Conditions
Treating both common and severe mental health challenges is a central focus of the organization's community-driven mission. Their multidisciplinary professionals are highly experienced in managing diagnoses ranging from profound depression and severe anxiety to schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Because they emphasize a full-spectrum approach, clients facing co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse receive seamlessly integrated psychiatric and medical support.
Issues
Beyond clinical diagnoses, the staff actively works to ease the profound life stressors that so often accompany behavioral health struggles. LifeSpring offers specialized interventions for individuals experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness, alongside targeted help for childhood emotional challenges and family conflict. By utilizing a robust 24-hour crisis intervention network, the team can rapidly stabilize individuals facing urgent psychological distress or untreated trauma.
Programs
Several highly specialized tracks have been developed to serve vulnerable populations across the region. Their PATH Program offers dedicated outreach for those at imminent risk of homelessness, successfully connecting them to mental health services and transition assistance. Additionally, as a Star Behavioral Health Provider, the clinical staff is specially trained in military culture to deliver evidenced-based reintegration support for returning service members.
