404 Spring Street, Jeffersonville, IN 47130
LifeSpring Health Systems is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Community Mental Health Center that began as a small outpatient clinic for children in Jeffersonville, Indiana, in 1964 and has grown to serve 11 counties across southern Indiana, providing comprehensive behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, primary care, and related services to improve and sustain the quality of life in our communities.
Guided by the value that 'It is our privilege to serve, with the highest quality of care, in a professional and fiscally responsible manner,' LifeSpring employs a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurses, licensed and master-level therapists, counselors, care and case managers, and support personnel who use a team approach to tailor specific programs for each individual, encompassing education, prevention, information, assessment, intervention, and treatment.
As the premier provider of mental health and primary care services, LifeSpring offers patient-centered, holistic, evidence-based primary care regardless of ability to pay via a sliding fee scale, integrated behavioral health services including one-on-one therapy, group sessions, medication management, and recovery support, as well as specialized residential facilities like the Recovery Campus and Turning Point Center for adults with mental illness and substance use disorders.
Committed to building strong partnerships with the medical community, social services, schools, governmental officials, churches, and community organizations, LifeSpring targets underserved populations including children, families, veterans, the homeless, offenders, and those with co-occurring disorders, ensuring no one is turned away due to inability to pay, insurance status, race, disability, or other factors, and providing the least restrictive, most supportive services to promote long-term recovery, community safety, and overall well-being.
What we treat
Treatment & Programs
Levels of Care
The Recovery Campus provides a highly therapeutic continuum of treatment for both substance use and mental health transitions. Clients can begin in 24-hour residential programs, which distinctly feature a physician-supervised sub-acute crisis stabilization unit. From there, individuals step down into ongoing outpatient care and collaborative group therapy at the modern Integrated Treatment Center.
Therapies
Recovery here relies on an engaging mix of individual therapy and regular group sessions to build vital, real-world coping skills. Because behavioral recovery is closely tied to physical wellness, the multidisciplinary team frequently coordinates medication management and primary care assessments. Clients might also be referred to in-house nutrition education classes to support a beautifully rounded healing process.
Addictions
The clinical staff treats a wide spectrum of substance use disorders, including severe drug abuse and alcoholism. Because they act as a state-certified gambling treatment provider, they also offer specialized help for gambling addiction. Services are explicitly designed to meet the complex needs of clients facing co-occurring mental illnesses alongside their addiction.
Conditions
The clinical team at LifeSpring Health Systems - Adult Behavioral Services is uniquely equipped to manage severe mental health concerns alongside addiction. Providers work closely with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and complex diagnoses like bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. Operating as a comprehensive community center, they ensure these underlying mental illnesses are safely stabilized with regular psychiatric oversight.
Issues
Providers here go far beyond the therapy room to confront difficult daily survival challenges. Interventions strongly focus on homelessness and housing instability, specifically through their PATH program and targeted Healthcare for the Homeless initiatives. The staff also assists with urgent community stressors by deploying quick response teams through Project CARE to assist individuals within days of an overdose.
Programs
Specialized tracks cater directly to populations that require highly nuanced clinical approaches. The team supports military members and their families through Star Behavioral Health Providers, delivering targeted and culturally aware trauma therapies. Additionally, men and women facing severe mental illness can participate in Supervised Group Living programs to slowly and safely transition toward eventual independence.
On-site
Amenities
The Integrated Treatment Center provides a bright, modern 10,000-square-foot environment for individuals participating in daily outpatient recovery programs. Those requiring around-the-clock support stay in 24-hour residential facilities with shared rooms, such as the Hope Center in Jasper. Accessible transportation shuttles with wheelchair lifts accommodate clients traveling to appointments, and trained service animals are openly welcomed on campus.

Payment
Financial accessibility is a core pillar of the community model at LifeSpring Health Systems. The intake team seamlessly accepts Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, and various private health insurance plans. For those without coverage, a strong emphasis is placed on highly affordable sliding scale fees that adjust transparently based on household size and annual income.
