INcompass Healthcare, formerly known as CMHC, has been serving Southeastern Indiana since 1967 as the region's first behavioral health organization, providing compassionate and comprehensive integrated care across over 19 locations in five counties.
Committed to exceptional care for everyone, our mission is to ensure that every person in our community has access to compassionate, comprehensive care on their path to wellness and recovery, treating the mind and body together through an individualized, evidence-based approach.
We offer a full continuum of services including outpatient and inpatient behavioral health for adults and youth (ages 0-26), substance use and addiction treatment with recovery support such as housing and employment services (via CASE program), 24/7 crisis intervention, psychiatric evaluations and medication management, primary care for all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics, and specialized programs like sexual offender management and problem gambling services.
Our multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and vocational specialists, collaborate to promote recovery, independence, and community integration, accepting most major insurances including Medicaid and Medicare, with financial assistance and sliding fee scales available to ensure accessibility for the underserved, homeless, and those with co-occurring disorders.

Treatment & Programs
Levels of Care
INcompass Healthcare provides a comprehensive continuum of care that ranges from brief outpatient therapy to acute inpatient stabilization. Their smaller-scale 16-bed inpatient unit offers a secure environment for acute crises, while standard outpatient services provide ongoing daily support. For those needing structured sober living, the organization also operates distinct community-based recovery residences to help clients transition toward independence.
Therapies
Clinicians utilize a blend of evidence-based modalities to support long-term recovery and independence. Within their structured recovery housing, programs rely heavily on Dialectical Behavior Therapy, building upon a foundation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to enhance essential life skills. Across all levels of care, patients engage in individualized, group, and family therapy sessions combined with dedicated medication monitoring.
Addictions
The clinical team here addresses a wide spectrum of substance use disorders, treating the mind and body together. Their inpatient unit specifically highlights care for adults experiencing acute crises alongside co-occurring alcohol or benzodiazepines use disorders. Additionally, the facility maintains a specialized treatment track for problem gambling, tailored to assess and treat related behavioral health issues.
Conditions
Treatment for severe and persistent mental illness is a core focus of the organization's behavioral health programs. Their acute inpatient setting is designed to safely stabilize adults experiencing suicidal thoughts, psychosis, or severe depression. In outpatient and community settings, clinicians also work collaboratively with individuals managing anxiety, trauma, and complex emotional or behavioral needs.
Issues
Beyond traditional clinical diagnoses, INcompass Healthcare heavily emphasizes resolving practical barriers to personal well-being. They provide robust support for homelessness and housing insecurity through a HUD-funded program offering over 100 scattered units for active participants. The staff also assists with career issues through vocational specialists, helps families navigate multisystem involvement, and offers virtual suicide grief support groups.
Programs
INcompass Healthcare features several distinctive specialty tracks tailored to specific community needs in Southeastern Indiana. The CASE Employment Services program helps individuals with disabilities secure and maintain competitive jobs, while their Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment (IDDT) provides collaborative residential support. They also run specialized clinical tracks for sexual offender management and an overarching youth empowerment program known as FIRE.
