Treatment & Programs
Levels of Care
The clinical team at Southern Hills Counseling Center in Tell City delivers comprehensive outpatient programming designed to keep clients in their local communities. Following their philosophy of providing the least restrictive environment possible, this location coordinates ongoing individual and group treatment. Individuals seeking immediate support can also utilize the clinic's local Open Access hours to walk in and receive same-day care.
Therapies
Treatment at this Perry County clinic relies on a collaborative team approach involving therapists, care managers, and medical staff. Patients engage in directed individual therapy to build coping skills, while ongoing case management ensures their broader life needs find stabilization. When a severe mental health crisis arises, the local Mobile Crisis Team can deploy to the scene to assess needs and safely de-escalate the situation.
Addictions
Beyond traditional substance use disorder treatment for alcohol and drug addiction, the facility is uniquely equipped to address opiate use disorder through specialized community initiatives. The network actively operates Project CARE, a collaborative response team that links individuals to treatment shortly after an overdose. Additionally, staff members hold specific certifications from the state to provide dedicated interventions for problem gambling.
Conditions
Care providers routinely assess and manage both common and severe mental illnesses, treating patients who experience depression, severe anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Because the organization functions as an integrated health network, the clinical team is highly experienced in navigating complex co-occurring disorders. They tailor treatment plans that simultaneously address a psychiatric diagnosis alongside behavioral or substance-related challenges.
Issues
LifeSpring health providers acknowledge that behavioral care is deeply intertwined with complex environmental stressors, including housing instability and family conflict. The organization operates a targeted Healthcare for the Homeless program alongside specific interventions designed to support parents navigating their children's sudden mood changes or behavioral problems at school. Dedicated staff cross-collaborate to assist those dealing with systemic challenges, including the immediate aftermath of surviving an overdose.
Programs
Specialized clinical tracks are a cornerstone of the center's approach, including dedicated Children and Families Services that support youth between the ages of 4 and 17. The Tell City facility also emphasizes its Veterans Services, employing providers specifically trained to understand military culture. These clinicians help returning service members seamlessly reintegrate into civilian life while addressing unique behavioral health needs.
On-site
Amenities
Operating as a dedicated community medical center, the 9th Street clinic provides a practical and welcoming outpatient environment. To ensure that physical access is never a barrier to recovery, the organization maintains a fleet of agency vans to transport eligible clients directly to their therapeutic sessions.
Coverage
Payment
True to its founding mission, Southern Hills Counseling Center ensures that no patient is turned away due to an inability to pay. The intake department readily accepts major coverage options including Medicaid and Medicare to cover outpatient services.
