What we treat
Treatment & Programs
Levels of Care
A comprehensive continuum of behavioral healthcare is available across central and west central Indiana. Levels of care range from short-term stabilization in a 16-bed psychiatric inpatient unit to 24-hour supervised residential group homes. Hamilton Center - Terre Haute also provides extensive outpatient counseling and virtual telehealth services.
Therapies
Evidence-based clinical methods anchor every personalized treatment plan. Counselors draw heavily on cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing. For those overcoming substance use disorder, medication-assisted treatment utilizing Methadone, Vivitrol, or Suboxone is paired with structured relapse prevention.
Addictions
Substance use disorders, including dependence on alcohol, opioids, and gambling, are treated as medical illnesses rather than moral failings. Through the state-certified WIN Recovery clinic, staff members specifically address opioid addiction with daily medication and therapy. Specialized outpatient counseling is also available for gambling addiction.
Conditions
Routine life transitions and serious mental illnesses are both managed with clinical precision. Individualized care is provided for depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Children facing unique behavioral challenges can also access specialized psychiatric screening and support.
Issues
Navigating daily hardships often requires support far beyond a basic clinical diagnosis. Dedicated care managers help clients resolve severe relationship issues, access social security benefits, and find stable housing. The staff also assists families dealing with grief, ongoing trauma, and anger management.
Programs
Hamilton Center - Terre Haute stands as Indiana's first certified Matrix Model treatment site for intensive outpatient addiction recovery. Specialty tracks include the Military Veteran Program and an early-intervention Healthy Families initiative. Furthermore, the distinctive New Citizen Program helps formerly incarcerated individuals rebuild their lives through a one-year workplace mentorship track.
