What we treat
Treatment & Programs
Levels of Care
Serenity House Inc provides sober living and transitional recovery homes across northeast Indiana. These recovery environments offer a highly structured setting for individuals progressing from the very beginning stages of sobriety all the way to self-sufficient independence. To help residents stay centered, careful house management bridges the gap between early recovery and a return to normal, productive living.
Therapies
Rather than utilizing traditional clinical therapies, the recovery framework here relies entirely on the lived experience and proven model of the 12 Steps. Residents engage in an ongoing spiritual transformation by working closely with sponsors and peers within the community.
Addictions
The transitional homes are deeply committed to helping individuals break free from the bondage of active drug abuse and alcoholism. Residency requires a genuine willingness to tackle these dependencies head-on and actively participate in the house culture. By living alongside other recovering people, residents find the mutual strength needed to manage their addictions and build lives they never imagined possible.
Conditions
These structured living environments are specifically designed for individuals navigating severe substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder. While the focus remains squarely on recovery from active addiction, the highly supportive community framework acts as a foundation for broader personal healing. Prospective residents must be completely open-minded about the nature of the help offered to properly address these conditions.
Issues
Transitioning back into everyday life is a core focus, with specific transitional locations dedicated to preparing self-sufficient residents to confidently reenter the community. Building a robust sober social network is woven into daily routines, heavily supported by local alumni who publish and share their personal recovery stories to show newcomers that hope is possible.
Programs
The entire transitional living program rests firmly on the time-tested principles, practice, and theory of 12-Step recovery. Residents attend robust, daily programming including Big Book studies, 12/12 format study sessions, and weekly speaker meetings held right on the property. Through peer support and structured step-work, the program challenges individuals to seek a spiritual transformation.
