LifeSpring Health Systems is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Community Mental Health Center and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has been the premier provider of comprehensive behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, primary care, and related services in southern Indiana since 1964.
Beginning as a small outpatient clinic for children in Jeffersonville, Indiana, LifeSpring has grown to serve 11 counties—Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Orange, Perry, Scott, Spencer, and Washington—operating over 25 facilities and annually supporting more than 14,000 individuals through education, prevention, assessment, intervention, and tailored treatment programs.
Its mission is 'to improve and sustain the quality of life in our communities by providing comprehensive behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, primary care and related services,' guided by the values 'It is our privilege to serve, with the highest quality of care, in a professional and fiscally responsible manner.' Employing a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurses, licensed therapists, counselors, care managers, and support staff, LifeSpring uses an integrated, evidence-based, patient-centered approach to address the whole person, fostering strong partnerships with medical communities, social services, schools, justice officials, churches, and organizations to deliver the least restrictive, most supportive services.
No one is turned away due to inability to pay, insurance status under Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP, or factors like race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity, with a sliding fee scale based on family size and income ensuring accessibility.
Services encompass individual and group outpatient therapy, psychiatric assessments and medication management, recovery support including residential programs like the Turning Point Center and Hope Center for crisis stabilization and substance use disorders, primary care medical homes, school-based health services, crisis response via a 24/7 call center and mobile teams, specialized programs for veterans, homeless individuals, children and families, problem gambling, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and overdose response through Project CARE, all aimed at empowering diverse populations—from children and families to adults with mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and the underserved—to achieve long-term recovery, community safety, and a greater quality of life.
What we treat
Treatment & Programs
Levels of Care
The Recovery Campus model at LifeSpring Health Systems provides a cohesive continuum of support for individuals seeking behavioral health intervention. Their residential care tier features the Turning Point Center for crisis stabilization and the Hope Center, alongside comprehensive daytime outpatient treatment. This stepping-stone approach allows clients to transition naturally between deeply supervised settings and localized community services.
Therapies
Treatment plans are highly customized, leaning heavily on evidence-based combinations of individual and group therapy. Clinicians work closely alongside medical staff to determine if psychiatric assessments and medication management are appropriate for a client's long-term goals. Wraparound case management further ensures that individuals learn vital coping skills while building a supportive peer network.
Addictions
Care teams address a wide spectrum of substance use challenges, prominently including alcohol dependency and opiate use disorder. State-certified providers also deliver devoted programs for problem gambling, ensuring comprehensive behavioral support. This specialized focus thoughtfully addresses the complex nature of deep-rooted addiction.
Conditions
Clinical staff are equipped to treat an extensive range of behavioral health challenges, from anxiety and changing mood states to severe mental illness. Because providers operate within an integrated care framework, co-occurring mental health and physical conditions receive combined, simultaneous attention.
Issues
Beyond managing core diagnoses, providers help individuals navigate deeply destabilizing life circumstances like housing insecurity and family conflict. The designated Healthcare for the Homeless initiative provides directed support to clients experiencing or at imminent risk of homelessness. Registered nurses also teach targeted nutrition education classes to address diet and physical wellness challenges.
Programs
Through the PATH framework, individuals facing serious mental illness while experiencing housing instability receive dedicated community outreach. Military members and their families benefit from specialized support guided by Star Behavioral Health Providers trained specifically in combat reintegration. Their holistic, patient-centered philosophy connects these specialty tracks closely with local social services and justice officials.

Payment
A defining element of their community mission is the absolute promise that no one will be turned away due to an inability to pay.
