What we treat

Treatment & Programs

Levels of Care

The journey at Turning Point SOC often begins in their 12-bed sub-acute residential detox unit, which accepts walk-in admissions 24 hours a day. From there, clients can transition into intensive outpatient (IOP) or standard outpatient programs. For those needing continued medication support after detox, the facility provides a Bridge Clinic to ensure steady aftercare support until a long-term provider is established.

Therapies

Treatment leans heavily on trauma-informed care and peer support, offering robust individual, couples, and family therapy. Clinical methods are reinforced by structured group therapies that run throughout the week, helping clients build relational and emotional coping skills. Those utilizing medication-assisted treatment are fully supported through an integrated, medication-friendly framework.

Addictions

The Kokomo center provides stabilization and withdrawal management for individuals transitioning from active alcohol and drug use. They directly address dependence on a wide range of substances, including opioids, benzodiazepines, amphetamines, and cocaine. Care is supervised by medical professionals alongside peer coaches who intuitively understand the realities of addiction from their own lived experiences.

Conditions

The clinical team delivers trauma-informed therapy for underlying mental health challenges that often accompany addiction. Outpatient programs directly address anxiety, depression, and severe mental health crises, while also offering guidance for complex relationship and parenting challenges. This dual-diagnosis capability allows clients to safely explore the roots of their distress without judgment.

Issues

Recovery here acknowledges that healing is nearly impossible when basic survival needs are unmet. Through their Rapid Access program, the facility actively tackles homelessness, food insecurity, and transportation barriers. Community resource navigators also help clients navigate benefits enrollment and manage ongoing crises, ensuring outside stressors do not derail treatment.

Programs

Turning Point SOC is defined by its grassroots “Pick Yourself Up” peer-led approach and a robust recovery community organization model. Specialized tracks include the Youth REACH program, which focuses on mentorship and life skills, as well as collaborative CRAFT family support groups. Adult participants can also engage in SMART Recovery, Seeking Safety, and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) sessions.

On-site

Amenities

The Kokomo campus is home to the Recovery Café, a physical sanctuary where guests can share in free meals from the dining hall and connect safely. The facility also features a fully stocked on-site food pantry to support clients facing food insecurity. To ensure physical comfort during early stabilization, patients in the detox unit are provided with personal care items and have access to a designated smoking and vaping area.

Coverage

Payment

The organization operates under a strict mandate that no one will be denied access to services due to an inability to pay. They successfully process Medicaid, Medicare, and most commercial private health insurance plans. For underinsured or self-pay clients, a generous sliding scale fee discount—reducing costs by up to 100% based on family size and income—ensures that financial barriers never prevent critical care.
