LifeSpring Health Systems is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Community Mental Health Center and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has been the premier provider of comprehensive behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, primary care, and related services in southern Indiana since 1964.
Originally starting as a small outpatient clinic for children in Jeffersonville, it has grown to serve 11 counties—Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Orange, Perry, Scott, Spencer, and Washington—through over 25 facilities, annually supporting more than 14,000 individuals of all ages, from newborns to seniors, including families, children ages 4-17, veterans, the homeless, and underserved populations, regardless of ability to pay, race, or other factors, with no one turned away due to inability to pay, insurance status, or identity.
Guided by the mission 'to improve and sustain the quality of life in our communities by providing comprehensive behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, primary care and related services,' and the values 'It is our privilege to serve, with the highest quality of care, in a professional and fiscally responsible manner,' LifeSpring employs a team approach with physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurses, licensed therapists, counselors, and support staff to tailor specific programs, including assessments, individual and group therapy, medication management, crisis intervention via 24/7 call center and mobile teams, residential programs like supervised group living and alternative family homes, school-based health services, Project CARE overdose response, veteran-specific support, employee assistance programs, and integrated patient-centered medical homes that coordinate care across specialties, emphasizing evidence-based medicine, harm reduction, partnerships with medical communities, schools, justice officials, and organizations, and a sliding fee scale based on household income to ensure accessible, holistic, least restrictive, and supportive services that address the whole person and foster recovery and community resilience.
