LifeSpring Health Systems is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Community Mental Health Center and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has been the premier provider of mental health and primary care services in southern Indiana since 1964, beginning as a small outpatient clinic for children in Jeffersonville and expanding through federal grants, satellite offices, and a 2018 merger with Southern Hills Counseling Center to now serve 11 counties—Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Orange, Perry, Scott, Spencer, and Washington—with over 25 facilities and annually reaching more than 14,000 individuals.
Guided by its mission 'to improve and sustain the quality of life in our communities by providing comprehensive behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, primary care and related services,' and core values of serving 'with the highest quality of care, in a professional and fiscally responsible manner,' LifeSpring employs a team approach with physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurses, licensed therapists, counselors, and case managers to tailor specific programs including education, prevention, assessment, intervention, and treatment for the whole person, integrating physical and behavioral health under one roof.
Services encompass patient-centered primary care with evidence-based medicine regardless of ability to pay via a sliding fee scale, behavioral health through one-on-one and group therapy for recovery, medication-assisted treatment, crisis stabilization at facilities like the Turning Point Center and Hope Center, residential programs for those with severe mental illnesses or co-occurring disorders, specialized offerings for children and families, veterans, the homeless via PATH and Healthcare for the Homeless initiatives, school-based health services, and community partnerships with medical, social service, mental health agencies, schools, justice officials, churches, and organizations to deliver the least restrictive, most supportive care to underserved populations including adults, youth, families, and those facing addiction, mental illness, or barriers to access, ensuring no one is turned away due to inability to pay, insurance status, race, disability, or other factors.
